The sawmill produces and commercializes sawn timber to meet the demand in the best conditions of quality, opportunity and delivery time, for the national and international market.
In a first step, the raw material is classified with loading machines. The Sawmill line is fed from there, through a loading dock with automatic feed chains, to be sent to the main saw.
When entering this line, the logs go through the main saw, where a semibase is originated and then sent directly to a secondary saw, from which several elements are obtained, such as boards, planks and slats with different thicknesses.
The sideboards coming from the main sawmill line, go to another saw which produces an element with one side with bark and three sawn sides, and a secondary saw allows to obtain an element with its four sides sawn, either plank, board or slat.
The sawn wood, with its defined thicknesses and widths, go to a reception desk with conveyor chains that move it to the double edging desk, whose function is giving each element its final length.
The waste or by-product from the raw material derived from the sawmill line, such as the sideboards, tippings, bark and sawdust, are also used, by means of a wood chipper which receive al the remains of the sawn wood.
Wood coming from the edging saws is clasified according to its specific dimensions. Then is retired by mean of stacking carts guided on trails, and later a forklift performs the transport to the antifungal treatment area.
This process is applied to the packs of wood, once sawn & encased, by its inmersion in a tank containing a solution of water and a concentrated fungicide, in order to prevent the attack of chromogen fungi, causing the blue stain.
Encased wood is stored in a shed of 2,200 square meters in area and open on all four sides, organized in 4-high by up to 5-wide pack stacks.
Packing process consist of the dismantling, packaging and strapping of the different elements, to finally take them by mean of a forklift to the respective vehicles, that distribute them to our clients.
Madisa Sawmill has another production line dedicated exclusively to wood chipping, to an increased use of raw material.
